With their permission we will walk you through the creation of their "dream clothing" drawn by Louis.
In July of 2003 Louis contacted us after their original seamstress was unable to complete their wedding attire. With only 3 months to prepare, Louis scanned and sent the sketches and fabric examples via email to us.
For references we have included their personal email and
you may at your leisure inquire how their experience with us was.

We met and the process of measurements began. fabrics were ordered that were needed and After several fittings we had the bodice for the gown and the doublet base perfect..
The doublet all laid out with the slash holes cut. Now its time to put it all together. Note how the house cat Moses carefully watches over the process assuring that all is perfect.

The work progresses and we are down to the wire, Louis is shown here pleating in the mini ruff for his doublet while Dee sews on the jewels to the under sleeves. |
Louis tries on his slops, cod piece and doublet and sleeves together for the first time.. All is well! | ![]() ![]() |

Dee tries on her gown for the first time, nearly complete with the exception of some beading on the front- she is utterly amazed and in shock! The gown is exactly what she wanted and all she can say as she gently touches the bodice is "it's perfect". Her tears of joy tell us that we have done well. Everyone here except Louis got to see Dee in her new gown and everyone was completely speechless when they regained their voices all that could be heard is low whispers saying, "My god its beautiful, " Its just perfect" , "This IS the best garb we have ever seen", |
As with Elizabethan garb, certain undergarments are critical for the proper fit and silhouette. Dee models the chemise (under dress), Hoopskirt, Corset and Bum roll.
