The Magic Thimble offers completely custom clothing. Nothing is pre-made and everything is made especially for you.

We specialize in Period correct clothing for noble and royal classes. Sturdy, functional and long lasting garments. Made the way they should have been.

These are NOT costumes. We create period clothing that would have been worn during the timeframe you choose.

 To complete your transformation to another period of time, you will also want to have the proper undergarments and accessories.  We will offer assistance in selecting your items if you desire such as: Hats, Fans, Corsets, undergarments,  Codpieces,  hand bags and purses.

This clothing is not for everyone. We offer a customized line of  period clothing for all time periods. Tudor and Elizabethan garments for serious enactors . These items are customized to your needs and specifications and constructed with incredible accuracy to detail.  Available for ladies and men prices start at $900 and up depending upon your desires.

Undergarments: Bum Roll, Corset, Chemise, Flat shoes, stockings, hoop skirt.

Gown Bodice:
Elizabethan style twill based steel boned bodice side back lacing with period hand sewn eyelets over grommets most of the bodice is hand sewn, Slashed and puffed shoulder rolls
Sleeves:
Lace in Under sleeve crosshatched with beading
Lace in scalloped Over sleeve with buttons
Skirts:
Cartridge pleated overskirt with taffeta and black work trim with amber and pearls
The underskirt is made of silk and taffeta. The detachable for par is made of heavy dupioni silk with  crosshatching and beading

~Lord Robert ~
Gentleman's Doublet & Slops

Sir L wears the under construction version of the Lord Robert.
Made in chenille and taffeta this is a doublet and slops for only the greatest of men. The majority of the doublet was done by hand as the heavy fabric was too bulky to fit in the machine.

 English Doublet has a great deal of detail work.  The front laces are hidden and the front of the doublet then closes with hooks.  (Which happens to be very period.) The patterns are meticulously matched .  Both the skirting and epaulettes are tabbed in a 3 upper /6 lower combination. The sleeves are detachable and scallop slashed .   The Latte (lighter fabric) has hand sewn chenille cording along the edges while the Black/Gold (darker fabric) is edged with black.  The puffing is actually part of the doublet and sewn in individually.  The doublet has an attached box pleated ruff that is black work roll edged

The slops are made of taffeta and chenille.  The waistband has eyehooks and eyelets for lacing.  The panes are edged in black on the black./gold and in a chenille cording on the gold/latte side.  We have added the necessary ribbons for you to lace your cod piece on.

The short standing box pleated neck ruff may be added in blended linen or cotton for an additional fee. Black work edging may also be added if desired as shown..

Cod Pieces may be created in many shapes and sizes. From modest to ornate. Custom cod pieces may be simple or extravagant.  Some have pockets others plain. They hide the lacing on the slops front and are perfectly period.

This style set is available starting at $950-1700

Many fabrics are available for your custom garments.  This particular material is available ONLY in Latte, Black or Crimson

We can create a one of a kind look for lords of the realm for a modest fee.
